Scott Hildenbrand was sworn in as Chief Deputy on November 22, 2003. The Chief Deputy holds the top non-elected position in the Sheriffs Office and acts in the Sheriff’s absence to ensure that the mission and philosophy of the Sheriff’s Office is carried out. The Chief Deputy is responsible for the supervision of all employees of the Sheriff’s Office.
Scott started his career as a dispatcher for the Chardon Police Department in 1984, in 1985 became a part-time patrolman/ full time dispatcher. In 1986 he became a full time patrolman and was promoted to Sergeant in 1996. Scott has also been a member of the Hambden Fire Department since 1981 working his way through the ranks and currently serving as the Fire Chief. He has lived in Geauga County most of his life graduating from the Chardon High School. Scott lives in Hambden Township.
Scott is working on his degree in Criminal Justice and has attended many leadership classes in Ohio and at the National Fire Academy in Maryland. He serves as the Chairman of the Geauga County Safety and Security Council, a member of the Geauga County Terrorism Task Force, and President of the Geauga County Fire Chiefs Association.
